More Easter Fun!

Egg Dying Time! This was the first year we decorated eggs with Jack...and it almost didn't happen:) We were all set to do eggs and he went down for a nap....didn't wake up until 11pm...so we did eggs at midnight and then all went back to bed;) Here we are getting the dyes ready!

First up - Daddy and Jack try a new fancy way to dye eggs...Tie-Dye style. They had to wrap the egg in a cloth, then poke holes in a case then spray different inks into the cast. Very complicated, but they did a great job!

Then we went back to the more traditional "dipping" into solid colors:)

Jack got a little impatient with the wire dipper and just decided to go in and grab the egg;)

I didn't get a shot of Ciara's basket up here, but it was similar to Jack's but a yellow chick...both had their names on the back. Here she is 'reading' her new Max and Ruby Easter book.

One week the hospital...the next week climbing like a monkey!

Our little stay at the hospital

So I spent some time thinking about whether to include pics of our recent hospital stay....it was a scary time. But it was something that we as a family struggled and got through together...something that made us stronger and realize how blessed we are. Just a few shots from the last week - we are home now and everyone seems to be doing much better.

One of our first nights in the hospital...note the scary crib/cage that they offered us to use for Ciara. I couldn't put her in that....she slept on mommy or daddy's tummy when she was between fevers.


The sign on her hospital door....I took her in at 1am with a 105.3 fever, febrile seizures and a very scared mommy.

Every few hours she would feel ok enough for go for a little "stroll" in the red wagon. Here we are headed down to xray for a chest xray to rule out bacterial pneumonia.

Some shots (late at night:) when we circled the pediatric floor many, many times...it was her "treat" and she waved and smiled at all the nurses.

You can see in this shot how sweaty she got from her fevers. So pitiful looking;)

Finally, after 4 long days we were able to come home (with some strong antibiotics). She looks so happy to be home...that hospital was not fun! Thanks to everyone for your prayers - God was watching over us!

Our Girl

Ciara Rose is 10 months old and such a little lady:) She is getting around pretty nicely, although not quite walking on her own. She has her two bottom teeth and we're expecting more any day. She has her first ear infection (booo!) but didn't give any indication she was sick EXCEPT that she refused to nurse...she was so happy and fun that I didn't think she was sick. She is eating a ton of food...LOVES yogurt and pancakes:) She said "mama" last week as I was leaving for a work trip...broke my heart - my little love is growing up so fast! Here are some shots from just the other day.

Now would you think this smiley baby has an ear infection:)

AND...she has totally skipped the baby sippy cup and moved right to the big girl cup...she loves drinking her water from it:) She is very proud of herself! (and so is mommy)

Swim Class x Two

We started swim calss with BOTH kids today:) It was great - the kids loved it and Ciara did amazing for her first time in a pool. She's a little fish! Because all four of us are in the pool we didn't take any "action" shots - but will try next week. Here are a few locker room shots before we all jumped in:)

Sorry this is late:) Mommy and Daddy celebrated with good friends on Saturday night in Washington DC. Daddy turned 40! Then on Sunday (daddy's actual birthday) Jack and Ciara took him to a little pizza place by our house where we had cupcakes and sang happy birthday (sorry I didn't have my camera;(...the festivities continue next weekend with a big crab feast with our family at our house (pray for warmer weather! It is snowing here today, the first day of April!) Happy Birthday Daddy!!
